Brock Lesnar and the MITB Briefcase: Analysis and Possibilities
What Do You Think About Brock Lesnar Winning the MITB Briefcase?
As of the current moment, Brock Lesnar winning the Money in the Bank (MITB) briefcase seems highly unlikely. He is not under a WWE contract and WWE hasn't shown any urgency to bring him back. Nevertheless, in the world of WWE, anything can happen. If Vince McMahon decides to bring him back, then Lesnar is likely to win the briefcase. However, in the case of Brock Lesnar, his decisions are his own. Paul Heyman, his advocate, has mentioned that Brock does what he wants. Therefore, it would only happen if Lesnar is willing to come back.
Lesnar has already won the MITB briefcase in 2019, and the match can be seen here. My initial reaction was a groan, a sigh, and a roll of the eyes. Given that Lesnar doesn't need the briefcase for monetary gain or to win The Royal Rumble, WWE’s plan to give him a guaranteed title shot seems flawed. MITB and The Royal Rumble serve to elevate wrestlers to main event status, and using them on already main event names doesn't make sense.
MITB Briefcase and Brock Lesnar’s Career
One thing that usually happens to many MITB winners is that they win, cash in, then often have mediocre runs afterward. The writing team struggles to find a direction post-cash-in. For Lesnar, he has nothing to lose because he already has everything at his fingertips whenever he wants it. He is one of the few people who can throw a championship at Vince McMahon and still stay in WWE's good graces.
Seeing the two with their sh*t-eating grins during the MITB event made the experience worthwhile. Personally, I would love to see Brock Lesnar trying to cash in on the briefcase, and instead, having his run contested by Mustafa Ali. Ali's obvious displeasure on Twitter can be used to build a storyline where Ali feels that Lesnar didn’t deserve the briefcase.
Mustafa Ali’s Involvement and Potential Match
With the Wild Card Rule, Mustafa Ali would be free to harass Brock Lesnar at any show, regardless of which champion Lesnar was attempting to cash in on. This enmity could lead to multiple encounters culminating in a grudge match between the two. The MITB briefcase itself wouldn’t be on the line; rather, the fight would be about Ali getting revenge for the briefcase. This antagonism could provide a thrilling storyline where Ali could be seen beating Brock Lesnar for the briefcase, much like he did in Money in the Bank.
Moreover, such a match could serve as the start of a journey for Mustafa Ali. Beyond the briefcase, this could lead Ali to a long, exciting road culminating in WrestleMania, where he would have a high-caliber championship match against the reigning champions. Ali would earn more over with the fans, and WWE would ensure that he remains a hot topic.
There are many possibilities, and WWE could create a great long-term story for both Brock Lesnar and Mustafa Ali. By letting Lesnar back in the ring with his defining trait (the MITB briefcase) and a new adversary, WWE could provide fans with exciting and unpredictable storylines.
In conclusion, Brock Lesnar winning the MITB briefcase, if he decides to do so, could be a pivotal moment in both his and Mustafa Ali’s careers. The plot can be used to drive engaging storylines and create thrilling moments in WWE.
