Can Africa Achieve Self-Reliance with its Abundant Resources?

Most definitely need I say more.

The continent is undoubtedly capable of surviving on its own, and yet, it faces challenges in realizing this potential. The question is not whether the resources exist, but why Africa is not self-reliant. We need to approach the issues of this continent with a long-term mindset, rather than seeking piecemeal solutions.

World Exploitation and Dependency

The entire world benefits from Africa’s resources but works hard to ensure the continent remains dependent. It is not by chance that Africa’s self-reliance is hindered; the global economy relies on Africa’s resources being obtained cheaply. Even so, Africa possesses more than it needs for self-reliance.

Interconnectedness and Beyond Resources

While Africa has abundant resources, the global village requires a more interconnected and sustainable approach. Each nation, including African nations, is integral to this global network. Despite this, Africa’s potential for self-reliance is primarily hindered by a lack of dedicated and reliable workers.

Abundant Resources in Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) alone is a prime example of Africa’s wealth in resources. With what the DRC possesses, it has the potential to achieve self-reliance. Africa, being a vast continent, should not be underestimated by distorted maps like the Mercator projection, which can be misleading.

Conclusion

Given its immense natural wealth, Africa can indeed achieve self-reliance. However, achieving this requires a sustainable economic model, reliable workforce, and a long-term vision. The challenges Africa faces are not insurmountable, but they require comprehensive and enduring solutions to ensure sustainable development and self-reliance.
