Donald Trump: From President to Businessman - The Aftermath of His Presidency

Donald Trump's life will never be the same after his presidency. His journey from a controversial president to merely a businessman will come with numerous challenges, primarily through legal litigations that will continue to dog him for the rest of his life. Trump's history of legal issues, extensive legal foes, and his fraught business dealings make his transition a complex one.

Legal Litigations to Endure

Any businessman who operates under Trump's methods would do their best to stay under the radar. However, Trump's approach was quite the opposite. Starting from the early 1980s, his business success hinged on a series of unscrupulous actions, including lying to banks, partners, investors, and contractors. From the late 1990s onwards, he became even more notorious, setting himself up as a money launderer for Russian oligarchs and being involved in a fraudulent scheme with Trump University.

By the mid-2000s, the advent of the internet and the ease with which due diligence could be conducted put a significant dent in his business practices. His business model required a degree of obscurity, something that was not Trump's forte, but despite his efforts, he managed to maintain a degree of anonymity due to the lack of serious consideration given to him at the time.

The Impact of Politics on His Business

Politics provided a new stage for Trump. Much like reality TV, he was free to do and say whatever he pleased without the annoyance of production staff. His political journey elevated his brand significantly. Yet, in reality, it was detrimental to his brand. Winning the presidency accidentally was a disaster for his business.

During his presidency, Trump lost the anonymity he had prior to his election. He created numerous enemies and put himself in a deep legal and political jeopardy. His efforts in attempting to secure his own re-election through questionable methods only made the situation worse stripping away the protection the office provided him.

The Struggle for Survival in Business

Trump has almost entirely screwed his existing business models. It is unclear to what extent his properties are burdened by debt, but the revenue from these properties has plummeted since he assumed office. This trend is unlikely to reverse after his departure.

The only way Trump can realistically keep his business afloat is by continue to milk his supporters for all they are worth. However, with a constant stream of upcoming court cases and legal proceedings, his ability to do so remains uncertain.

Conclusion

Donald Trump's transition from president to businessman is a story marked by legal turmoil, business struggles, and endless legal litigations. His legacy will be one of controversy, legal battles, and significant challenges in regaining the standing he once had.
