In my opinion, happiness and sadness are not fixed states but rather depend on how we perceive our circumstances. Our minds have a natural tendency to focus on the negative, leading us to believe that we are in a tough phase of life. It is essential to broaden our mindset and recognize that everyone goes through challenging times. The common saying, "the grass is greener on the other side," is often misleading. We need to look around and acknowledge the hardships others face.

For instance, a recent promotion might bring joy, but it could also be marred by personal losses. Obsessing over friends on social media partying and driving fancy cars can lead to feelings of inadequacy. It is crucial to remember that what we see on social media may not reflect the complete picture. The friends you admire may also be struggling with their own issues. Understanding this can help us find contentment in the little things around us.

Cherish the Small Moments

How far is happiness from sadness? Just a small shift in perspective can make all the difference. All you need is a simple moment of joy - hot parathas with a dear friend, savoring a cup of ginger tea, listening to some melodious music, going shopping, or drifting off into a good series. These small moments can bring a smile to your face and provide a much-needed respite from the daily stresses of life.

Even something as simple as eating a piece of chocolate when you feel tense can be a joyous experience. Remember to treasure the company of your family and friends. Emotions can be powerful, and it is important to express them freely. Keeping a diary can be therapeutic, allowing you to share your deepest thoughts, sorrows, and joys with someone who understands.
