Exploring My Goals and Pursuing Them
Exploring My Goals and Pursuing Them
When asked about my hobbies, I find myself at a bit of a loss. I often feel a strange emptiness in identifying with one, which might stem from a deep-seated quest to truly understand what interests me most. This exploration is a crucial part of my journey, but there are other goals that I aim to achieve along the way.
Self-Discovery and Overcoming Challenges
Perhaps the most significant goal in my life is finding what truly interests me, perhaps even more so than having a specific hobby. This quest for self-discovery has brought me through a series of personal challenges, including a period that pushed me to the brink of self-doubt and impostor syndrome. However, these challenges have also been pivotal in shaping who I am today. One of the ways I am seeking to overcome these doubts is by embarking on a journey of solo traveling.
Solo Traveling: A Path to Acceptance and Growth
For the past six months, life has served me a series of unexpected lessons, and I have had to confront my fears head-on. I believe that the best way to learn to accept changes and build resilience is to immerse myself in new experiences away from home. By traveling solo, I can step out of my comfort zone and truly embrace the idea that change is a part of life.
Professional Development: Staying Competitive
Another area where I am focusing is the pursuit of a career that truly resonates with me. For a long time, I have been struggling to identify a field that excites me. Whether it's Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) or case studies, the areas that should be driving me forward have not provided the spark I need. It’s a reminder of the importance of setting ambitious yet realistic goals, and not succumbing to the pressure of always being the top performer. This character, let's call it the 'Buster' character, encapsulates the essence of perseverance and the necessity of staying on track.
Mastering New Skills: Cooking and Driving
Ironically, while I struggle to identify my hobbies, there are a few skills I aim to master. Cooking is one of them. A personal turning point occurred when my parents left for a month, leaving me alone for the first time in my life. In that moment of solitude, I found solace in cooking, but it was a bumpy road. Initially, all I could manage was a simple Daal Bhaat Chokha, but over time, I started to experiment with a variety of dishes. Yet, mastering the art of cooking remains an ongoing journey.
Another skill I am working on is driving a bike. My fascination with a planned Ladakh bike trip has become a driving force behind this goal. On my father's request, I began learning to ride, and as I get more confident every day, I am eagerly looking forward to the day I can hit the road on my own.
In conclusion, while I still grapple with defining my hobbies, my journey is about finding my place in this world through a series of goals, both big and small. Whether it's pursuing professional success, mastering new skills, or embracing life's changes through travel, every step is a progression towards becoming the best version of myself.
