Is It Unfair to Criticize E.V. Ramasamy Thanthai Periyar?

Many have criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for claiming it is unfair to criticize E.V. Ramasamy, better known as Thanthai Periyar, particularly regarding TM Krishna's selection for the Sangita Kalanidhi award.

For instance, it is understandable to have grievances with the Indian government; however, seeking help from Pakistan to 'reform' India is a despicable action.
