My IBPS Clerk Pre 2021 and My Journey to Success

So, let's dive right in! Last year, 2021, marked the year I finally decided to take up banking preparation. My journey began with appearing in the SBI Clerk exam in July 2021. It was my first ever banking examination, and I scored a modest 48 marks. Despite feeling deeply disappointed, many sleepless nights and too much caffeine later, I eventually passed. The journey from a score of 48 to 84 was far from easy; it involved many dreary days, restless nights, familial conflicts, and the struggle to maintain mental health by saying goodbye to some dear friends. However, today, here we stand. I would advise anyone struggling to push even harder. Consistency is key; wake up each day and commit to sitting in the study chair, building a strong foundation, and doing the necessary work. A sloppy writer writes too much.

Clearing the SBI Clerk Exam

This year, SBI released the results for the clerical cadre. My examination was on 25th December in the third shift. Thankfully, I was able to clear it with 80 attempts. I have attached my score card below. Here's to hoping for the best for all of you. The mains exam is scheduled for 15th January, but I won't be taking it as I've recently been selected as an RRB PO in CRGB.

Achieving 89/100 in the IBPS Clerk Pre 2021

My examination took place on the 19th of November 2022 in the third shift. The venue was ION Digital Zone Powai. I managed to answer 89 questions with 100% accuracy, scoring a perfect 88. The exam sections were Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English.

Reasoning Section

The first section of the exam was Reasoning, where I attempted 33 questions. Although I was aware that the first section would be Reasoning, I still panicked a little. However, it turned out to be very easy. I could solve all the puzzles with just one or two possibilities, and I left two questions unattempted: one was a syllogism where I was confused, and the other was a meaningful word. History repeated itself to some extent with modifications, as in the previous IBPS Clerk Prelims, I attempted 33 questions in the reasoning section and left one syllogism and miscellaneous question unanswered. I managed to solve all 33 questions within 17 minutes, with 3–4 minutes remaining. During those last few minutes, I simply glanced around, unresting.

Quantitative Aptitude Section

The next section was Quantitative Aptitude, where I attempted 28 questions. For me, simplification was a bit calculation-heavy. One data interpretation (DI) question was a piece of cake, but I couldn’t solve six arithmetic questions. Overall, the section was of a moderate level.

English Language Section

The final section was English, where I answered 28 questions. This was the first time in four preliminary exams of IBPS and SBI that I exceeded 25 in English. This is because there was no para jumble this time, which saved me. RC (Reading Comprehension) was about a clean village without any dumping grounds. Overall, this section was of an easy level. I am attaching my score card below, and here are some photos from exam day.
