This article is written for those who are planning to apply for SAIL MTT through GATE in future years. The recruitment process through GATE 2019 was heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and was delayed for a considerable period. Let me guide you through the journey of getting into this esteemed organization during these challenging times.

The Journey Begins: GATE 2019

The GATE-19 exams were conducted between February 2 to February 10, 2019. Following the exams, SAIL initiated the registration process for MTT through GATE in May 2019, specifically in the last week of May. This marked the beginning of the recruitment process in a new normal post-COVID.

However, the journey did not end there. In December 2019, SAIL reopened the registration process, only for those who had not applied earlier. This flexibility demonstrated SAIL's commitment to ensuring that all eligible candidates could apply, despite the disruptions.

Rescheduling Due to the Pandemic

Initially, interviews were scheduled to begin in the last week of March 2020. However, these were canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The delay did not deter SAIL’s efforts in finding the right talent. Instead, they persisted and provided new interview call-letters in the first week of February 2021.

The interviews began on February 17th, 2021, and continued for almost 2 to 3 weeks. This process demonstrated SAIL's resilience and commitment to maintaining the integrity of their recruitment process.

Two Years of Patience and Perseverance
