A Lexy Path: School Days and the First Setback

My journey began in a less popular school in my hometown. Despite consistently ranking within the top ten throughout my school years, I was never particularly ambitious for a higher rank. However, the first setback came in class eight during the half-yearly examination when I failed in mathematics and Sanskrit. This was a stark departure from my previous academic performance and a significant shock to my system. It was a reminder that success is not guaranteed, and everyone faces challenges.

The Turning Point: A New Mentor and a Path to Success

It was during this challenging time that I received an important turning point in my journey. I met Tarak Biswas, who became my private tutor and mentor. He knew me as Tarak Da and not just as a student. Tarak Da not only provided academic support but also instilled in me the confidence and belief that I too could excel. He used various examples and stories to inspire me, and little by little, I started to view myself differently. I began to study harder, receiving an immense boost of inner energy that had eluded me before.

By the end of the academic year, I not only managed to clear my final examination but also secured a remarkable score: a hundred marks above the half-yearly results. This was a significant turning point in my life, as it planted a seed of belief that I could achieve great things. I felt a powerful surge of inner growth and confidence, and I decided to preserve those results by laminating them. These experiences with Tarak Da deeply influenced my future path and served as a reminder that with dedication and determination, one can overcome any setback.

Adversity in the Engineering College

Fast forward to my engineering college days, another significant challenge presented itself. In my second year, I was caught plagiarizing during an examination. The external examiner noticed irregularities and asked me to leave the room. Despite my pleas, he insisted on administering a strict penalty. When the results were announced, I was informed that I had failed in that subject.

It is important to note that failing an exam does not necessarily mean the end of your academic or professional journey. While it can be a setback, it also provides a chance to learn and grow. I encountered many coworkers who had to retake exams multiple times, including the first Professional Engineer (EIT) and the second (PE) exams in the United States. These first two exams, known as the EIT and PE, are highly challenging. However, with perseverance and the right preparation, one can overcome these difficulties.

Like many people, I faced challenges, but I chose to view them as opportunities to learn and grow. The key is to not let setbacks determine your future but to use them as stepping stones to a more successful and fulfilling path. I believe that with the right support, determination, and a positive attitude, one can turn any obstacle into an opportunity.
