QuEST Global: A Personal Perspective and Cautionary Tale
QuEST Global: A Personal Perspective and Cautionary Tale
Introduction
Having spent approximately 3.5 years with QuEST Global, my perspective is that the company is not a good fit for experienced candidates. I believe QuEST Global is a place that can waste your time and hurt your self-respect. During my tenure, I witnessed several alarming situations that led me to question the value of working for this organization.
Uneven Career Trajectories
One alarming trend I noticed is the sudden shift from talented professionals in their respective fields to those working in IT roles. For instance, I saw a 3-year experienced and talented mechanical research and development (RD) engineer shift to an IT role within 1.5 years. The reasons behind this were intriguing and often deeply troubling.
Many employees faced a significant challenge when trying to secure higher salaries. Due to their experience and expertise, they could not secure promotions or better offers at interviews, as the HR representatives often quoted their previous salaries. This led to an early departure to join an IT company after moving from the mechanical field. A case in point is an individual who was experienced in mechanical engineering RD but was advised against sticking to mechanical fields due to QuEST Global’s negative impact.
Personal Experiences
Situation 1: Workload and Performance
I encountered a situation where my performance was deliberately sabotaged. I was required to undertake the workload of two individuals, yet they managed to secure significant increases in their performance metrics and promotions. This was a direct indication of the uncompetitive work environment and unhealthy competition within the company.
Situation 2: Physical and Verbal Abuse
A more personal experience involved a distressing incident where my personal belongings were forcefully taken by my colleagues in front of a group of people. The situation was further compounded by the aftermath, as the management lied about the incident and later received threatening messages from an abusive superior.
Cons of Working at QuEST Global
Working at QuEST Global comes with numerous disadvantages. While security in certain teams is a plus, the lack of growth and recommendation opportunities outweigh this benefit. The work environment is hostile, and the salary is poor compared to the effort and responsibilities required.
No Growth and Hostile Work Environment
No genuine career growth and no recommendations from the company for better opportunities A highly competitive and hostile work environment where questioning or pointing out mistakes might negatively impact your career prospects Work-life balance is non-existent, with frequent overtime and a constant fear of losing one's job if one does not fake their performance recordsPoor Salaries and Benefits
The benefits offered are disappointing, and any salary hikes are minimal and infrequent. During the pandemic, there was no salary hike for an entire year, despite working on critical projects that were crucial for the organization. The allowances were also cut, and the hikes offered were disappointing, often worse than the first year’s increase.
Training and Education
The so-called training programs at QuEST Global are hit-or-miss. While some individuals may find the training beneficial, many only achieve this through luck rather than structured development.
Lessons Learned
Lessons Learned
The work environment at QuEST Global can be described as highly toxic. The best way to avoid it is to end your career there as quickly as possible. Beware of managers; they control significant influence over your career trajectory. If you challenge or point out their mistakes, your image is tarnished across their networks, making it difficult to switch projects or teams.
Office politics, email chains filled with blame games, and favoritism are rampant. It is crucial to never outperform your manager’s pet employees and to polish their boots if you want to remain employed. The leadership is educated but appears to lack genuine expertise and integrity. HR personnel often act as puppets to the department leaders and program managers.
Company morale is low, and there is little job security. Success in such an environment is often dependent on faking performance records and bribing your manager to ensure your place within the company.
In conclusion, while QuEST Global may offer some job security in certain teams, experienced professionals should avoid this organization due to the poorly structured growth opportunities, unfavorable working conditions, and a general lack of respect for employee dignity and professional development.
