Do Regular People Really Need Private Security?

When most people think about individuals with private security, images of wealthy celebrities, politicians, or even CEOs often spring to mind. However, the world of private security is far more diverse and accessible than commonly perceived. Some regular, everyday individuals find it necessary to hire their own security personnel for safety.

By 'regular' individuals, I do not mean rich, politically influential, or corporate executives. Instead, it refers to common folks who recognize the value of protection in certain circumstances. For instance, when traveling to what I categorize as 'woke lawless cesspools' in places like Seattle, San Francisco, Portland, Chicago, and Atlanta, non-wealthy individuals might find themselves in unfamiliar and potentially dangerous environments. In these cases, professional bodyguards or entire security teams can be a wise investment.

The Hidden Costs of Safety in Urban Wastelands

In cities like Seattle, for example, the need for protective measures is starkly evident. During a recent visit, my journey was interrupted when I was confronted with a demand to "pay toll" to walk through what was claimed to be "occupied territory." This occurred right outside the University of Washington on University Ave. When I refused and called the police, a senior officer advised me to pay the toll and not to bother them again, stating, "Their street, their rules." Despite my refusal to pay, I was threatened with arrest. Recording the incident earned me a temporary pass, but it reinforced the necessity of having a bodyguard or at least two large individuals to ensure safe passage.

The Demographics of Protection: Who Needs It?

It's not just white men who need to hire security personnel, but anyone who looks like they have more than 40 years. In these urban areas, the cost can be significant, but it’s a price many are willing to pay for peace of mind. The older the person, the more they may need to prioritize their safety.

Advancing Technology Meets Old-Fashioned Security

Thankfully, modern technology has made personal security more accessible and less expensive for regular folks. Gone are the days when only the rich could afford professional security. Companies like Sam Colt have brought private security within reach of the average individual. People can purchase reliable firearms like Rugers, Colts, Smith Wessons, and Browning for self-protection. Setting up digital security systems with cameras and alarms can also significantly enhance personal safety without breaking the bank.

Paradoxes in Private Security for Regular People

While the benefits of private security are clear to many, the question remains: can someone truly be considered 'regular' if they have access to such protective measures? It's a paradox. Some might argue that the act of hiring a security professional transforms one’s status from 'regular' to the domain of the ultra-privileged. But in reality, it's about addressing a specific need for safety.

Ordinary citizens, like the Joneses and Straights, typically don’t require private security unless they face specific threats, such as involvement with the underworld or corrupt politicians. These instances are unfortunately quite common, and regular individuals often find themselves in need of protection for themselves, their families, and their properties.

In conclusion, while the notion of 'regular people' with private security can be seen as a paradox, it underscores the critical importance of safety in modern, often unpredictable, urban environments.
