The Journey of Jungkook Before Joining BTS
Before joining the immensely successful and globally recognized K-pop group BTS, Jungkook Jeon, also known as Jimin, followed a rigorous and multifaceted path that ultimately prepared him for his role in the band. This journey, marked by early interest in music, training at Big Hit Entertainment, and various competitions, laid the foundation for his current success and recognition.
Early Interest in Music
From a young age, Jungkook demonstrated a deep-seated passion for music. Influenced by artists such as Usher, he began pursuing singing and dancing as hobbies. This early interest and dedication set the stage for his future career in the entertainment industry.
Training at Big Hit Entertainment
Jungkook's journey towards becoming a member of BTS began with an audition for a South Korean talent show. Although he did not make it to the finals, this audition revealed his potential to seven different agencies, including Big Hit Entertainment. After a significant training period, during which he underwent rigorous training in singing, dancing, and performance, Jungkook was finally chosen to become a member of BTS in 8th grade.
Participation in Competitions
During his training period, Jungkook participated in various competitions to hone his skills and gain performance experience. These competitions provided him with a vital opportunity to showcase his talents and build a strong repertoire. He continued to refine his abilities, contributing significantly to his eventual debut with BTS.
Superstar K
Before joining BTS, Jungkook auditioned for the popular South Korean reality talent show Superstar K Season 3. Although he did not advance to the final rounds, the exposure he gained through this audition helped him stand out to numerous entertainment agencies. Among these were JYP Entertainment, Cube Entertainment, Starship Entertainment, FNC Entertainment, and Woolim Entertainment.
Dance Training in Los Angeles
At the young age of thirteen, Jungkook was sent to Los Angeles for dance training. Here, he learned various styles of dance, which greatly enhanced his performance abilities and choreographic skills. This exposure to diverse dance techniques played a crucial role in shaping his dance skills, a significant aspect of his role within BTS.
An Ash-Shy, Quiet, and Timid Individual
Bang Sihyuk, the producer and CEO of Big Hit Entertainment, described Jungkook as almost not debuting with BTS due to his shy and introverted personality. In particular, when asked to sing, he would often begin to cry out of shyness. Despite this, he was eventually chosen and became a member of BTS in 8th grade, making his debut with the group on June 13, 2013, at the age of fifteen.
School Life
Jungkook attended Baek Yang Middle School and later graduated from Seoul School of Performing Arts High School. He is the youngest boy in his family, with an older brother. His determination and hard work during his school years undoubtedly contributed to his success in the entertainment industry.
