Trivandrum, formerly known as Thiruvananthapuram, has faced several instances of flooding in recent times, primarily due to heavy rainfall. Government machinery, along with the help of city residents, transported around 500 trucks of emergency supplies. Furthermore, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), political parties, and institutions made significant contributions, providing monetary and material assistance.
